Story behind the song
I wrote this for my kids and girlfriend who all love Blueberry Pie. I wanted to write a Dixieland style song also for my new Jazz project to be launched in March/2010
Lyrics
BLUEBERRY PIE Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Nothin' makes me feel so fine Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Reminds of those days gone by Can't get enough of that blueberry pie Grandma used to bake me Her famed blueberry pie She said she made it for me I was the apple of her eye It made me feel so special So happy I could fly It's funny how somethin' so simple Made you thankful for being alive Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Nothin' makes me feel so fine Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Reminds of those days gone by Can't get enough of that blueberry pie When I went on to college mama took me aside She said we're so proud of you As I wiped the tears from her eyes I always knew you'd do well Because a mother can tell Then we parted and said goodbye She said : '' By the way I baked you a pie '' Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Nothin' makes me feel so fine Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Reminds of those days gone by Can't get enough of that blueberry pie Nothing wrong with apple Coconut cream and cherry too But when I need a pick me up Just one slice will do Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Nothin' makes me feel so fine Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Reminds of those days gone by Can't get enough of that blueberry pie Now I'm so much older But I'm still the same kid inside I always get excited when I smell a fresh baked pie I might be sentimental , Lord I'm a sensitive guy Life's so short and this I know So have a slice of that pie before you go Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Nothin' makes me feel so fine Blueberry Pie, blueberry pie Reminds of those days gone by Can't get enough of that blueberry pie Words & Music : Michel Goudreau ©Copyright 2009 by Michel Goudreau, SOCAN
