Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
The Smivets' motivational speech set to music. Dedcated to the "all mouth & no trousers" brigade who, as you can see, get my goat somewhat.
Lyrics
You talk a lot But do nothing Always complaining But change nothing A lot of words That say nothing Time to shut up And do something Barrack room lawyer Armchair warrior You ain't said nothing that I ain't heard before, yeah What if we left it all up to you now Watcha gonna watcha gonna watcha gonna do? I'd like a little less smoke, a little more fire, That's the kind of plan that I desire Taking the initiative's what I need A little less haste, a little more speed I want a little less talk, a lot more action Maybe start a bit of a chain reaction Instead of wasting time fixing what isn't broke How 'bout a little more fire, a little less smoke, huh? You got something? Let's see it You want action? Just do it Backseat driver Take the wheel Let's see if your sh*t's for real Backseat driver Take the wheel Let's see if your sh*t's for real Ready to put your money where your mouth is? No, I thought not I want a little less smoke, a little more fire, That's the kind of plan that I desire Taking the initiative's what I need A little less haste, a little more speed I want a little less talk, a lot more action Maybe start a ch ch ch chain reaction Instead of wasting time fixing what isn't broke How 'bout a little more fire, a little less smoke, huh?

Great lyrics. Yeah and the music works too. Rocking hard. And you got the fire in there.

BIG sound!! Brilliant lyrics, fantastic hook and top notch performance. Excellent vocals and music, great arrangement - this really does sound like a pro studio job. Gotta have this one for my station. "Ready to put your money where your mouth is...not I thought not" superb spoken line there...I really love this - wish I'd written it!! Do approach some publishers...your work deserves to be heard by a much larger audience!
