Story behind the song
Every year the Smivet tribe takes a road trip down to Lake Garda in Northern Italy. No aeroplanes for us, we spend 2 or 3 day dawdling down through Germany and Austria and generally enjoying the journey. Last year was one of those brilliant moments when the weather in Austria was not too good, and we were bracing ourselves for the worst, but as soon as we crossed the Alps it was like someone had thrown a switch. The tunnel at the top of the Brenner Pass is 492m long (approximately) and it was cold and miserable when we went in, and hot blazing sunshine when we came out 25s later. We were like "oh YES this is it!" everyone got their sunglasses on and we knew the real holiday had started. This song attempts to capture that feeling and is dedicated to everyone looking forward to a well deserved summer break.
